Everything in this episode heightened next week’s finale for me. I can’t wait to see the big reveal of the killer.
In many ways, this show probably isn’t best suited for an audience member like me, as I’m impatient when it comes to dealing with a slow paced narrative. Sharp Objects, like many other HBO TV series, is good at keeping the audiences waiting.
It is Calhoun Day in Wind Gap, and the town people are invited to celebrate what seems like an offensive fictional holiday at Adora’s front yard. There isn’t any new development for the show’s mystery; but there is new character development for Camille and Amma.
Camille may have grown up in the small town of Wind Gap, but I’m glad to know she’s familiar with Kelly Clarkson. She says, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” while talking on the phone with her editor Frank Curry. Well… or that line could just be a total coincidence and I might be reading too much into it.
