Despite all the lies and dishonesty surrounding Season 2 of Big Little Lies, you can’t say that Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern) and Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) are not good mothers because no matter what the circumstances are, they put their children in first priority.

It’s impressive how Season 2 of Big Little Lies is starting to pick up its pace. “The End of the World” (2019, directed by Andrea Arnold) shows the Monterey Five—Celeste, Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) and Renata (Laura Dern)—struggling with issues in their own lives, and Mary Louis (Meryl Streep) still refusing to believe that her son Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) grew up to be a menace.
